Known as the Jewel of the Rockies, this charming hotel is located on a 5-acre peninsula overlooking Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. It is only 20 minutes from Lake Louise and 40 minutes from Kicking Horse / Golden. The city center is only a 12-minute drive away. Visitors are surrounded by water and scenery so beautiful it will take their breath away. || The historic lodge, renovated in 2007, remains the heart of the resort. It consists of 85 rooms located in pavilions surrounding the main pavilion, some of which have views of the lake. Built with hand-hewn timbers and featuring massive stone fireplaces, this charming hotel features a formal dining room, quiet reading and sitting rooms, conference facilities and a games room. The living room is enhanced with an oak bar salvaged from the 1890's Yukon Hall. The views from the upper or lower large porches are breathtaking. As in the past, this hotel has proudly welcomed those in search of the extraordinary. Further facilities at the hotel include a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, cloakroom, café, bar, restaurant, internet access and parking. || Each room has a wood-burning fireplace, private balcony, down comforter and the serenity that comes from having no in-room televisions. They also have an en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, telephone, radio, tea/coffee maker, ironing facilities, double bed and specialist heating. || There are numerous hiking trails in the area. In summer, guests can rent canoes on the lake. During the winter season, it is possible to rent snowshoes and cross-country skis, as well as go ice skating on the lake.
