Common description

We are in an ideal location for Prestwick Airport, Eyre Racecourse, Northfield Bowling Center and the many world class golf courses in the area. Newton-on-Ayr railway station is just around the corner, providing direct rail connections between Ayr, Prestwick and Glasgow, and there is a direct bus service to the bus stop just in front of the hotel. It is a place that attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every spring and summer, increasing its weekly population by 150%. They come for world-class golf at Royal Troon and Turnberry, salmon and trout fishing, sailing, black grouse shooting, horse racing, not to mention exploring historical sites from the impressive Culzean Castle to numerous other castles and Robert's birthplace. Burns, and for stunning sea views. Golf and Robert Burns put Eyre on the map, but the area's unique charms have kept him there. Rolling hillsides, picturesque coastlines and even some of Scotland's famous islands are all within easy reach of the old town of Eyre and its 500 year old architecture. The hotel itself was built in the early 1900s with a turret and ridge resembling a small castle. In the early years it was a medical operation before becoming a hotel in the 1930s. We have a range of well appointed, comfortable en suite rooms providing good clean accommodation at a competitive price. Our restaurant is open 7 days a week, providing quality food for residents and non-residents. The hotel also features the Friendly Bar, which hosts weekly sporting events, billiards, darts and karaoke.
